Position Overview:
We are seeking a Café Assistant to join our team. As a Café Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our bakery and café. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and gain valuable experience in the culinary industry.
Duties:
– Assist with the preparation and production of food items such as breakfast and lunch meals and bakery items such as cookies, muffins, and donuts
– Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistent quality and taste
– Operate kitchen equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café and kitchen areas
– Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking ingredients and supplies
– Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their food and bakery orders
– Handle cash transactions using the Square POS system
– Correctly deliver orders to customers in the dining room
– Adhere to food safety guidelines and ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of food products
– Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines
Experience:
– Previous experience in a bakery, cafe, or other culinary environment is preferred but not required
– Knowledge of food handling, safety, and sanitation practices
– Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
– Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and helpful attitude
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
